Eileen Ryan is an interdisciplinary artist from New Hampshire. She incorporates her unique background in microbiology, art, and hospitality to create investigative works about interspecies communication, spiritual microbiomes, and mysticism related to human and non-human experiences. Using a process of imagination, experimentation, and observation, Eileen creates installations, performances, and paintings to communicate her concepts to a variety of audiences around the world.

Codex | Phase 1: Library of transcriptions and speculative translations in bark beetle galleries. This project has opened up opportunities for endless areas of research and I’m excited that this is only the beginning! There is still so much to uncover and understand . The first phase of “Codex” won’t be complete until the end of this month when my residency @cultivamoscultura comes to an end, but I thought I would share a little bit of my process over the past weeks before the final documentation. Thank you to everyone that has supported me and allowed me the privilege to pursue my work.
